First, I expected two separate sensors as shown in the pictures. I received one unit with two sensor rods attached. I can say that the moisture sensor seems to be somewhat accurate. The pH tester is not even close. I’m using it as per the directions, but the pH of my soil seems to always indicate 7.5+ on this meter. I have tested the soil itself and runoff using other models of test kits, and the pH is always 5.7-6.5. This is using two independent test kits. I would not trust the pH side of this sensor.

Read the instructions, and these are easy to use. They seem to be accurate – moisture in my garden was as expected. Moisture in my cactus was too high! Important to note – do not leave them in the soil when not using. And for the one star reviews that say they tested in water and they didn’t work – the instructions say do not use in liquid because it will damage the sensor.

I put the moisture meter and the pH tester in soil and the needles didn’t move at all I poured a gallon of water into the pot for my tomatoes and it still is reading dry. The needles have not moved at all
