Little difficult to figure out but did the job well. 5 Norwegian rats trapped in first 4 nights. Released safely (elsewhere!).

Placed outside and within an hour, i saw a chipmunk in it…will keep for future use. Very easy to set up, didn’t come in a box and might have been previously used /returned.

I have been catching mice regularly with this trap. The little critters are smart and do not go inside the trap right away. I leave food all around the trap, and some inside. It usually takes two days to catch a mouse; first they just eat the food around, then they become comfortable, go inside and get caught.
Then I take them to a park and release them.

Got a squirrel the second day and a rat the third day. This trap works. Thank you!

This product works! We caught a little mouse and I was able to set him free in a park in my neighborhood. Just be careful to periodically check the cage. An animal could die without water or in the heat after a long period of time in a hot garage.

I definitely recommend this for people with rats or mice that need to set traps. It was easy to set and easy to discard the remains. I have been able to use multiple times and works as designed.

Purchased the small trap to combat my 13 lined ground squirrel problem. Lil buggers keep excavating gravel from under the concrete patio and service walk, which have now settled in spots and is cracking. The trap is very easy to setup and release is just as simple. There is a small bait hook at the rear which is nice. This worked so well it has also inadvertently trapped mice. Being as light as they are, they were able to trip the door closed. So far I’ve trapped 4 ground squirrels, 3 chipmunks and two mice. Most of which I had absolutely no bait in it. Trap was set in front of a burrow and in their path. My battle with these cute lil turds will go on.

With the first week caught 2 Norway rats, 2 chipmunks, 1 squirrel and 1 bird. Released the Caroline Wren unharmed and relocated the small mammals off to deep wooded area a couple miles away. This is a tough and effective trap. Perfect for what I need. The squirrel was an extra, didn’t think it was big enough.

My mom’s yard has become infested with chipmunks in recent years, in part because she loves to feed and watch the birds. The chipmunks LOVE the free seed, stuff their cheeks full, and carry it off to their burrow, which is in an unspecified location in the yard, but with obvious entry points throughout the backyard. She spent last summer trying to trap them with a larger live trap for squirrels, but without any luck. She put this trap out and within hours had captured a chipmunk! To date, she’s removed a total of 13!!! As if this wasn’t amazing enough on its own, she didn’t even use any bait!!! They were just curious and wandered in. FWIW, we relocate them out to the countryside where there is a forest where they are better suited to live. Sure, there’s no free birdseed there, but there are plenty of the usual chipmunk resources to allow them to live full and productive chipmunk lives. So glad I got these traps! They have provided property security for my mom (chipmunks can be very destructive), and I’m sure in the end the chipmunks will have a better quality of life out in the forest where they belong.

Only had for a few days, but caught two chipmunks. They were NOT happy.
Used peanut butter as bait. Easy set up and works well. Not too easy to clean, but does the job.

Easy to operate, work great for mice and chipmunks, too small for pack rats.

It it operates as described. It is easy to set up.
But, I made a small improvement/modification by placing a 90-degree angle piece of plastic cut from a food container box, measured and fitted to snuggle in on the bottom of the cage precisely behind the bait platform / release pedal and extend about 3/4 of an inch up the back of the mesh wall… this way the animal has no choice but to step on the pedal to access the treats, it keeps the treats from falling through the mesh floor, and ensures that there is some food in the cage to last until you come to check on the trap ( I leave it set overnight for rats and check it in the morning) . I have added photos but since the plastic is transparent it might be a little hard to see.
I’m currently using this small size trap to catch and release rats ( who are attracted to my bird and squirrel feeders and water, and have taken up residence in the space between my roof and kitchen ceiling!), but it would also work for mice.
I would not suggest this one for any animals as large as a squirrel, it’s way too small for that. (It’s almost too small for an adult rat with the length of the tail included.)
ONE COMPLAINT: it needs to have some kind of a handle on the top otherwise you have to put your hand all the way around it to carry it/move it with the captured rat inside. The rats cannot bite you from the inside and I’m not worried about them doing that at all, as they are going to be afraid of you and stay away rather than try to attack you, but it’s just a little something to be aware of that you will need to handle the sides and bottom of the cage directly.
Also, not a complaint but maybe a suggestion, I would have liked that it have another little access door or panel on the side of the cage somewhere. Since rats are not active during the day, I check the trap in the morning, and if I have a captive, I keep him/her in the cage with food and water, until dusk before I take them out to release; another access door one one side, perhaps one that slides up to open, would facilitate someone in adding and maintaining the food and water more easily all day.

I had a pesky chipmunk getting under my back porch and needed him to go away. The live trap caught him and took him to a new home.

This works very well to catch field mice even if they are very little. No escapees so far between the trap and a peanut butter cracker. You can easily release them in an area away from your home. We dump out the remaining cracker, too. : )..

Bought this because I was being overrun by chipmunks, destroying my potted plants, and patio. It worked great!!
Squirrels would also get in, and I found it wasn’t strong enough to hold them. They were able to flip the trap over and get the door to release, So for anything bigger than chipmunks I would recommend a stronger trap.

The media could not be loaded. Have had a mouse problem for too long. Saw the mouse droppings on the window sill and heard them scurrying around up in my attic but wasn’t sure if it was mice or bats or squirrels or what! After a month, I said enough is enough, im taking care of this, and no way was I paying an exterminator! $20 for a humane trap that works! I’ll take it. I heard the cage bang shut and new immediately the deed was done. Sorry Mickey.
Only thing I didn’t like was the manufacturer sticker on the bait plate.. why?? I has to tediously scratch and peel it off carefully because I was worried it might bend the metal components of the trap action. Just put no sticker..
I’m sure it would work for much larger rodents as well.
Bye Mickey!
